Inspired by the story of King David’s children and adapted from II Samuel chapter 13, “The Taken” is a trilogy of one-act plays exploring the roller coaster of emotions a girl feels when raped by one brother and avenged by the other through murder. Bringing this story to life with vibrance and conviction are the fresh chocolate faces of A’Keyah Dasia Williams, War Marco Talley, and Kevin Jones Jr..
Miss Penn is the Dean’s Fellowship recipient for the Columbia University playwriting class of 2018 and most recently served as assistant director to Golden Globe winner Regina Taylor at the Tony Award winning Goodman Theatre.
