“Kerry Washington (ABC’s Scandal) and Steven Pasquale (this season’s Junk) will return to the stage to headline the Broadway premiere of Christopher Demos-Brown’s American Son. Tony winner Kenny Leon (represented on Broadway this season with Children of a Lesser God) will direct.
Performances will begin October 6 at the Booth Theatre (currently the home of The Boys in the Band). Opening night is set for November 4.
The drama is set in a Florida police station and follows Kendra and Scott, a separated, interracial couple that reunites as they must grapple with the disappearance of their teenage son. Eugene Lee (Gem of the Ocean) will also appear as Lieutenant John Stokes.
